"Hello - Welcome to Life Photography - My name is Rachel Pilkington(owner) and I am the mother of two children;
I was a fashion model for 10 years, and have had the privilege of working in state of the art studios worldwide with some of the worlds best photographers such as David Bailey, Mario Testino, John Swannell, Barry Lategan ( famous for the face of Twiggy) and many others.
I was fascinated by the talent I was surrounded by and my passion soon moved from modelling to photography as I was inspired and supported by these wonderful photographers to create my own style.
After getting married and having my own children, I soon became absorbed in the importance of family photography.
How many times have we meant to get those professional photographs taken? Meanwhile our children are growing and changing and we are missing recording those special moments, with not just snapshots, but beautiful contemporary pieces of artwork we can keep forever.
After becoming inundated with requests for photographic sessions, I traded in my mobile studio and in 2003, with the support of my husband, opened Life Photography Studio in Bromley.
We now have over 2,500 regular Poppets customers and many hundreds of studio customers coming through our doors every year.
You have to be a people person to work at Life. We are an all female studio, most of us have children and everyone is made to feel comfortable and welcome. We appreciate there are some people who feel distinctly uncomfortable at having their picture taken, but we promise you will be made to feel at ease and relaxed.
